She attended Berkley College and Stanford University, though it is unclear whether she graduated. Beginning in about 1925, she worked as a publicist for Fox Studios. She was assigned to follow Frank Borzage and worked on several of his silent era movies including "7th Heaven". She also worked on at least one Victor Schertzinger movie, "Thunder Mountain". Throughout most of the 1930's and 1940's she was a free-lance writer focusing on movie-related themes for "Sunset Magazine", the "Vacationer Magazine" and "Children's Playmate Magazine".
